The
SCUTTLEBUTT

The Maritime Music Broadcast
for
Mariners and Land Lubbers

Welcome to
 THE SCUTTLEBUTT

For those with a liking for the world of Maritime Music……… and for those who have not yet discovered its richness of history, wonderful music, stories and fun.

 Traditionally
THE SCUTTLEBUTT
was one of the few places on a ship where all members of the crew met – and they took the opportunity to swap news, gossip.. and most often to grouse and grumble  … about everything from the weather to the food!

Like the sailing ships which were often manned by international crews we are also international – from our home shore of the United Kingdom we will be setting sail for Europe, The Americas and Australia….

We be looking at some of the latest releases … the traditional work songs … some of the songs sung during the rare moments of relaxation.. or while the ship was becalmed in the doldrums, but we will not leave you there … listen and enjoy! We will also be telling you about upcoming Maritime Festivals  - there are always some in your part of the world.

Sorry but we will not always have time to play all the tracks in full but there is so much we want to cover!
